INDORE: Central Indian feral child Mowgli, toon protagonist of Rudyard Kipling's famous creation 'The Jungle Book' is getting some serious fashion following from new age Mowgli from Barwani district.
Meet 10-year-old tribal boy Kanhaiya Gendalal, who has reportedly refused to wear anything except underwear to his school in Sirsari Basahat village, 10 km from Barwani district headquarters.

A class VI student, Kanhaiya has been attending school wearing just underpants while his classmates wear navy blue school uniforms 'Ganvesh' distributed free by the state government. He attends classes, plays in the playground and goes about his day's business wearing underwear alone.
"All efforts to convince the boy to come in the school in uniform, provided free by the state government, have been in vain. We even tried to convince him to wear at least a towel to school, but he refused to cooperate," claimed school teachers Alex Thomas, Feroz Khan and Kavita Solanki.
School administration recently wrote to Barwani district collector Shobhit Jain and district education officer SR Achale in the matter.
"From Class I to Class V, while attending primary school in Pichaudi village, Kanhaiya wore desi langoti (loincloth), which is skimpier, but the school administration there didn't have any problems with it. If the middle school administration compels my son to stop wearing only tribal underwear to school, then I'll raise the issue with government officials, including the collector," said Kanhaiya's mother Lalita.
