Oscar winning composer AR Rahman won his 29th Filmfare Award in Chennai last night at the Nehru Indoor Stadium at the 61st Filmfare Awards (South) ceremony. The ace composer received the awards from actress Khushbu for his music for the film 'Kadal' and he thanked his director Mani Ratnam for giving him such an wonderful film.

The ace composer further took to his social netowrking page tweeting, "Thank you, Filmfare Awards and Vijay Awards for showing such love to the music of Kadal...

The crowd went berserk when AR Rahman entered the arena and everytime he was caught on camera on the giant screen. For a composer who started his career in 1992, winning 29 Filmfare Awards in his 22 years in the industry is an achievement in itself even if his Oscars and and other awards aren't taken into account.
