Wedding sequences are not easy to shoot, especially because it becomes really difficult to work with heavy costumes and jewellery. The heat due to all the lights on the sets doesn’t help much either. I remember this one scene where both the grooms Mayank and Aditya had to put sindoor on my forehead. We ended up doing so many retakes that by the end of the sequence, my forehead was completely red and I looked like a clown! It was really funny and we had a hearty laugh once the cameras were off and the shot wrapped up.

Wedding sequences are fun to shoot but very time consuming as well. Some of the sequences stretch for many days. Once I had to put on sindoor and I ended up putting more than what was needed. My co-stars came forward and started to help me remove it. That’s when one of them, jokingly, started to say the famous lines, “Ek chutki bhar sindoor ki keemat tum kya jano Tina Babu!”. I burst out laughing.
Shashank Vyas
I have been married a couple of times in the show Balika Vadhu. Wedd-ings always get good TRPs. Once while shooting a wedding sequence I had to give many re-takes. People on the sets started joking about how it seems like I’m really getting married. Everyone teased me saying that our show’s name is Balika Vadhu and Shashank is Baal Vadhu.
