Employee among three absconding accused arrested

JAMMU, July 11: An employee of Angel Traders at Sanjay Nagar was among three others, who were also involved in yesterday sensational dacoity case of Rs 25 lakh at Nanak Nagar, were arrested by the police.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police teams constituted by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Uttam Chand successfully arrested three persons, who were absconding and wanted in the robbery case of Rs 25 lakh at Nanak Nagar yesterday from Sainik Colony.
The accused have been identified as Rajan Gupta, son of Bodh Raj of Nanak Nagar (employee of Angel Traders), Balveer Kumar alias Billa, son of Gun Bahadur and Sunny Kumar, son of Daleep Kumar, both residents of Jallochack, they added.
A sharp edged weapon, bat, two motorcycles used in the crime and the remaining cash were also recovered from the possession of the accused, they added.
They said that Rajan Gupta informed Varun, son of Baldev Raj of Sanjay Nagar, who got arrested yesterday that the employees of Angel Traders are carrying huge amount to deposit in the bank. Varun along with four others associates planned the game to loot the cash, they added.
A case under FIR No 136/14 already was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar in this regard and investigation started to ascertain the identity of the accused in other theft cases also.
This sensational dacoity case was worked out by joint efforts of police teams headed by SHO Gandhi Nagar Police Station Manzoor Ahmed Kohli, Incharge Police Post Nehru Market Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta, PSI Ashiq Hussain and PSI Sushil Choudhary, Incharge, Police Post Sainik Colony under the direct supervision of SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
As reported, two employees of Angel Traders at Sanjay Nagar namely Ashok Sharma of Akhnoor and Sunil Kant Arora of Talab Tillo after collecting cash of Rs 25 lakh from the owner Chetan Dogra went to deposit the same in J&K Bank, Nanak Nagar yesterday on scooty.
On their way to bank, these arrested five thieves on two motorcycles intercepted their scooty near Gurudwara in Nanak Nagar area, threw chilly powder in the eyes of employees and decamped with a bag containing Rs 25 lakh cash.
Two of the accused namely Varun, son of Baldev Raj of Sanjay Nagar and Zaffar Hussain, son of Kaku Hussain of Sainik Colony were arrested yesterday, while three others, who were absconding were nailed by the police today.
