Ameerpet residents, traders want Metro Rail route changed

Mr Rama Rao to take up issue with CM KCR, to protect residents and traders interests

Hyderabad: The traders and residents of Greenlands, Ameerpet, Madhuranagar, Yusufguda and Srikrishnanagar are now seeking realignment of the Metro Rail route from Begumpet to Ameerpet via Greenlands.

Traders and residents met information technology minister K.T. Rama Rao at the Secretariat on Friday and urged him to change the Metro route to avoid demolition of properties and markets along the stretch.

They alleged that the original alignment was supposed to have passed through Greenlands-Panjagutta-Nagarjuna Circle-Srinagar Colony-KBHB Park-Jubilee Hills, but the officials had altered it to make the Metro pass through Greenlands-Ameerpet-Madhuranagar-Jubilee Hills.

Mr Rama Rao assured the traders that he will take up the issue with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and that their interests will be protected.
