Arunima to play an educated call girl
Arunima Ghosh is on cloud nine, as she will be sharing screen space with none other than Adil Hussain in Paramita Munsi's debut film, tentatively titled Mari Juana.
The actress will be playing a call girl in the film, which is about the journey of a painter, Sarthak Kapoor (Adil), and three sex workers who enter his life in the process.
I can't believe I will be sharing the same frame with Adil! The very thought is giving me goosebumps! My character is very interesting.
She is a compulsive liar and she doesn't have any particular name, as she keeps telling Adil throughout the film that her name is Mita, which changes to Ashiqi the very next moment and so on. I played an uneducated sex worker in the megaserial Sanai and for which I got an award too, but in this film, I play an educated call girl. The film, which will be shot in sync sound, is all about colours and traces the journey of a painter from black and white to colour," Arunima said.
The film, the music for which is being scored by Kabir Suman, will go on the floors in September. That apart, Arunima, who is eagerly awaiting the release of Amar Ami, has another project in the pipeline. A debutant director, Subrata, is making Basu Chatterjee's Shaukeen in Bengali. The film revolves around three lecherous old men who decide to have some fun and in the process, get into some hilarious situations with a lady who they try to impress. I have been approached to play that lady's character. But I am yet to sign up," said Arunima with a smile.
