There seems no let up in horrible road accidents in the State. The killing of nine employees of the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department near Kamrazi Morh Potato Farm Sinthan Top is quite shocking.
Even more shocking than this is the attitude of political leaders who are quick to express their shock and sympathies but can’t do nothing more than that. The bad condition of the State roads has never bothered them as they never raise this issue in the Assembly when in session. In the eyes of the administration a human being has not more than one lakh of worth.
The killing of people in road accidents should have been a priority area with the administration, but that is not the case.
The traffic situation in the State is worsening day by day. Unless some concrete measures are taken, accidents as the above will continue to occur day in and day and in the State.
The bad contion of roads in Kishtwar district came to fore recently when the people in the district protested against administration for not black topping the roads in this beautiful region. Despite highlighting the issue by the people, the roads continue to pose problems to people.
