Tiger Shroff Tiger Shroff

Actor Tiger Shroff, who is a self-confessed fan of legendary pop star Michael Jackson was snapped while shooting for a music video tribute to the King of Pop on his fifth death anniversary, on June 27. The song is a remix version of Shroff’s Whistle Baja from Heropanti and the immensely-popular Billy Jean from Jackson’s album Thriller. The video was released online last week and received a tremendous response.

Jumme ki raat

Mass appeal

Kick

Talk about Salman Khan and the first thing that comes to your mind is dhinchak, massy music! Be it Dhinka chika in Ready or Mashallah in Ek Tha Tiger, Khan’s films have always nailed it in the music department with great ease. The first song from Kick, Jumme ki raat, is composed keeping the film’s target audience in mind. Although the song was promoted as a Qawalli, it is far from the usual sounds that you get to hear in a traditional Qawalli. Mika Singh packs a punch with his voice, as he melodiously croons the hookline and does perfect justice to the number. Palak Muchhal is okay. Lyrics by Kumaar and Shabbir Ahmed are at their massy best, complete with references to pyaar, maar and vaar. Now, despite the fact that the signature tune of the song is extremely catchy, the track loses it’s fizz as soon as the first paragraph kicks off, making it sound like a rehash of old, tried and tested sounds. Reshammiya could have done a lot more with the composition, but as mentioned, we give him full marks for the amazing signature tune, which is surely on its way to becoming a favourite ringtone with the masses.
