Back-from-the-dead footballer Fabrice Muamba made six-year-old son Joshua’s sports day – by winning the 100m dads’ race.

The former Bolton midfielder, who “died” for 78 minutes after suffering a cardiac arrest during an FA Cup tie at Spurs in 2012, showed a clean pair of heels to his opponents in a sprint.

Proud wife Shauna tweeted a snap of 25-year-old Fabrice’s triumph at the private school in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

One fan replied: “ True sportsman, he’s still got it!”

When Fabrice's heart stopped beating during the televised match at White Hart Lane, a medic emerged from the crowd to assist in getting it going again.

As he fought for life in the following days, the world of football united in prayers for him.

He was out of hospital after less than a month but quit football on medical advice and now does TV work commentating on games.

He has since become a dad again and has just launched a range of Caribbean cooking sauces with Shauna, 29, that are being stocked in major supermarkets.
