Security guards in Kandivli defrauded of pay hike, three held
MUMBAI: Police in Kandivli (E) arrested three persons, including the deputy general manager of a security agency, for conning employees of the agency off their increments.
The prime accused, Jaswinder Singh, is the deputy general manager and also in-charge of the security agency’s Kandivli (E) branch. The other accused are Abdul Lashkar, a guard with the agency, and Arvind Khicha, a staffer at a co-operative credit society based in Parel.

“In December 2012, the agency hiked the salaries of all guards employed with them. Singh took the help of Khicha and Lashkar to misappropriate the money. Khicha and Lashkar were paid a commission for their efforts. The trio had siphoned off Rs 87,000 by May 2013,” said a police officer.
When the security agency got its books audited, it discovered that the guards were not receiving any increments despite the sums being deducted from the agency’s account. Following this, a case was registered at the Samta Nagar police station.
Singh and Khicha were arrested on Sunday while Lashkar was held on Monday. The entire sum of Rs 87, 000 has been recovered from the arrested accused, police said.
