Yamaha Fazer FI

Close on the heels of Yamaha launching the new FZ and FZ-S FI Version 2.0, spy shot of the Fazer FI undergoing testing has been uploaded by Throttlequest.com. Launching the fuel injected version of the Fazer doesn’t come much of a surprise as it seemed the next logical step for Yamaha to take after updating their ever popular streetbike offering.

From the image one can make out that the new Fazer also receives updates on the cosmetic front. The major visual detailing being the new restyled fairing which has been extended a bit alongwith more sharper profile for the headlamp. Apart from the restyled fairing, the new Fazer FI carry forwards the split seats, restyled tail lamp, tank extensions, all-digital console and revised muffler as seen on the new FZ FI series.

On the mechanical front, the new Fazer FI will also feature the same fuel injected powerplant as seem on its streetbike sibling producing 13.1PS and the peak torque 12.8Nm. It will also feature the Yamaha Blue Core tech technology which the Japanese two-wheeler giant improves fuel efficiency by 14 per cent by reducing power losses and improving combustion efficiency. The new FZ and FZ-S FI are additional variants under the FZ family and we expect it to be the same case with the Fazer FI. The fuel injected FZ series is around Rs 6,000 dearer than its carburetted sibling and we expect the new Fazer FI to be priced around Rs 82,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and hit the showrooms during the festive season.
