A court in Fujairah sentenced a Pakistani girl to three years in prison and ordered her deportation from the UAE after she was found guilty of forging official documents.

Police had arrested the girl after she was found to have forged stamps on a university certificate in her home country and using it in the UAE.

The girl denied knowledge of forgery, saying she had sent the certificate to a man in Pakistan for authentication. She said she did not know the man had used forged stamps and signatures.

Sharjah airport authorities arrested a Pakistani man after he tried to smuggle 62 heroin capsules inside his stomach, newspapers reported on Wednesday.

Authorities stopped the man for search after receiving a tip off from Dubai’s counter-drugs units about a narcotic trafficking attempt by an Asian passenger.

The man was taken to hospital where images showed he had 62 heroin capsules, which were removed from his stomach before he was taken to the prosecutor for trial.
