New citizens welcome, but squatters are not

It was wonderful reading about the people becoming new citizens of the United States ("New citizens, new lives," Saturday). Welcome, and I wish you prosperity as you embark on your journey.

I am sure each one has a story they could share regarding all they endured to immigrate here. It culminated with an oath to "support and defend the laws of the United States of America."

To each of those who reside in the United States after sneaking across the border, overstaying their visa or whatever other means used allowing you to squat here, I can only say, "Get out of our country!" Take your ill-gotten gains, your family and go back to your own country.

Use everything you have learned from being here to improve your own country. It is the least you can do! It is the right thing to do! Your illegal efforts to be here demonstrate the difference between you and our 9,000 new citizens.
