The Chennai police arrested M Balagurusamy, 54, who is the nephew of Prime Sristi Housing Private Limited managing director M Manoharan, and site engineer K Karthik, 25.
Chennai building collapse: Two more arrested
CHENNAI: The Chennai city police have arrested two more people in connection with a building collapse at Moulivakkam that claimed 61 lives.
They arrested M Balagurusamy, 54, who is the nephew of Prime Sristi Housing Private Limited managing director M Manoharan, and site engineer K Karthik, 25.
Balagurusamy is a native of K K Nagar in Madurai while Karthik hails from Tenkasi. Police teams probing the building collapse nabbed the duo from their native places on Monday night.
They were brought to Chennai and remanded in judicial custody on Tuesday.
The Mangadu police registered a case under Section 304 (2) (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the IPC. They had earlier arrested Manoharan, his son Muthu Kamatchi, architect Vijai Bargotra and site engineers Venkata Subramanian, Sankar Ramakrishnan and Durai Singham for their alleged negligence in providing safety to construction workers.
