AMAZULU say they know nothing about the arrival of Zambia international Bruce Musakanya at the club, as has been widely reported.

A number of media outlets suggested that the former Nkana star would attend trials with Usuthu, but the club have denied this.

"I have spoken to the team manager and the general manager and neither of them know anything about this," AmaZulu media officer Brilliant Mkhathini told Sowetan.

Musakanya would be an interesting purchase. He is highly rated, having won the Zambian Young Player of the Year award in 2013.

He was also a star of the Chipolopolo that won the Cosafa Cup last year and has worked his way into the full national side.

The 20-year-old spent the past six months on loan at Nkana from Red Arrows, but was plagued by injuries that meant he saw little playing time.

Usuthu have already confirmed the signing of five players, including former Lamontville Golden Arrows winger Philani Shange.

Shange, who has been handed a two-year deal, has vast Premier Soccer League experience, having spent the past nine seasons with Abafana Bes'thende.

He has moved across town following his former side's relegation at the end of last season.

Also confirmed is former Thanda Royal Zulu goalkeeper Siya Mngoma, who has penned a three-year deal. Mngoma, who was also at Arrows last season, will provide competition for Tapuwa Kapini and Aubrey Mathibe.

The club has also brought in Durban Warriors striker Mfanafuthi Dlamini, a 23-year-old who has a three-year contract, as well as young defender Tapelo Nyongo, 19, from the Old Mutual Academy in Cape Town. He also has a three-year contract.

The final signing is 18-year-old striker Darren Smith from Ajax Cape Town's youth ranks.

AmaZulu have also confirmed they have parted ways with central defender Msekeli Mvalo, Namibian winger Pinehas Jakob, midfielder Lunga Zondi, goalkeeper Philani Zikalala and forward Njabulo Manqana.
