One of TVs brightest names is ready to mark his film debut with a jodi that gave Bengali primetime one of its biggest hits. Debapratim Dasgupta known universally as Taju in the industry will direct Indrasish Roy and Sohini Sarkar in Haar Mana Haar, a tale that deals with the many facets of marriage in todays world.

While Debapratim has written scripts for successful soaps like Aparajito and Sobinoy Nibedan and directed non-fiction shows such as Rojgere Ginni, the audience fondly remembers Indrasish and Sohini as the lead pair from the superhit megaserial Adwitiya. Both have moved on to films since then Sohini made a splash with Phoring and Rupkatha Noy last year, while Indrasish is awaiting releases like Lorai and Aagun.
Debapratims film also stars Kanchan Mullick, Sumit Samaddar and Shantilal Mukherjee and will go on the floors on July 11. I have penned the script and dialogues for Haar Mana Haar, which is based on Subroto Niyogis story Swami O Premika. The narrative is about a young couple that has an arranged marriage. You see them on their first anniversary, when everything seems perfect. There is love, understanding, friendship. Then, as the story progresses, the misunderstandings crop up. The film deals with the dynamics of marriage in todays world. What seems like a bed of roses is not so in real life. Sohini and Indrasish are both fabulous and Im sure they will make a good on-screen pair, said Debapratim.
This film and my character have many layers. Tajuda is a brilliant director and I have worked in projects where hed written the script. I was about to act in a play directed by him but that, I guess, will happen later. Indrasish and I are good friends off screen and that should help us portray the characters better, said Sohini, who is dubbing for Selfie, starring Soumitra Chatterjee, right now.
Indrasish too is happy to bag the role. This is the first time Ill play a husband on screen and Im all nerves. My parents want to get me married but I stay a thousand miles away from it all. As luck would have it, Ive now signed up for a husbands role, said Indrasish with a smile.
