MALAPPURAM: The police are yet to unravel the mystery surrounding a shooting case, in which the son of one of the victims of the Areekode twin murder case was injured on June 20.
Kolakkadan Gulam Hussain alias Aju (29) was allegedly attacked by a five-man unidentified car-borne gang, and was injured on right palm. He was riding a motorbike with his brother when they were attacked around 4pm.
After the attack, a police team under Manjeri police inspector Sunny Chacko was entrusted the investigation, and they were yet to make any arrests. Local residents alleged the police did not properly probe a similar incident reported from the area on the night of June 19.
Aju's father Kolakkadan Aboobacker and his brother Azad was killed by a gang on June 10, 2012 at Kuniyil. Later a special investigation team found the murder of the Kolakkadan brothers was in retaliation to the murder of Atheque Rahman, who was hacked to death in January 2012.
Azad and Aboobacker were among the list of accused in the Atheeque murder case. Azad and Aboobacker attacked when they were out on bail.
After the attack on Aju, police had said that the attack was in continuation of the previous incidents.
