Filmmaker
Tushar Unadkat, who studied at the
M S University of Baroda before he shifted to Canada, says that there's an audience for Gujarati films in
Canada too. The filmmaker, who has been a self-confessed admirer of filmmaker
Abhishek Jain after he saw
Kevi Rite Jaish and tries on his part to promote Gujarati films in Canada, says, 'We have a huge Gujarati community in Canada and there is an appetite for Gujarati arts and entertainment.
They love to watch good Gujarati films. However, we don't just target Gujaratis when we bring Gujarati films here. We advise filmmakers to introduce English sub-titles to their films, so that they can be brought in front of the mainstream audience. Our international audience includes not just non South Asians but also the second, third and fourth generation of Gujaratis, who are not fluent with our language.'
