CUTTACK: After assuming charge as the state's DGP on Sunday, Sanjeev Marik said making police people-friendly was his top agenda.
"My priority will be bring about transparency in the police administration also," Marik said after taking charge from Prakash Mishra, who was been posted as OSRTC CMD.
For Marik, a 1981 batch IPS officer, the elevation has come seven years after the state government suspended him for allegedly asking a Bhubaneswar-based person to accompany a group of gangsters from Bihar to Bhadrak jail where 12 other gangsters were lodged in connection with a dacoity case.
He was reinstated after the CAT quashed the suspension and the Union home ministry recommended his reinstatement.
