PALANPUR: Police claimed to have busted a gang of robbers by arresting three persons, including a police constable attached to police headquarters in Ahmedabad. Police said the gang was allegedly involved in robbing the car driver of a Surat-based angadiya of Rs 9.5 lakh when he was on way from Jalgaon to Surat on June 11 in Maharashtra.
Police have recovered Rs 4,55,000 and the car used in the robbery from the gang, local crime branch police inspector A M Chaudhary said on Sunday.

Banaskantha district superintendent of police Ashok Kumar said, "Surat-based R Kantilal Finance and Courier Service had filed a complaint with Nandurbar police and later on June 26 also written to him about the case."
The three were handed over to Maharashtra police. The gang comprised police constable Hemant Kumar Pandya, Maulik Patel and Vijaysinh Chatarsinh Rajput.
Maulik, a resident of Palanpur, was working in R Kantilal Finance and Courier Service, owned by his relative. The firm's owner had written to Banaskantha police saying that they suspected Maulik's involvement in the robbery. Rajput was also from Palanpur while Pandya was a resident of Ahmedabad.
