BASKETBALL ELITE LEAGUE TEAMS DRESSED BY DUPS

MANZINI – All the elite league teams in the Swaziland National Basketball League were presented with playing kits on Saturday.

The kits worth close to E40 000 were presented to the 12 teams playing in the men’s elite league and the National Woman League. Presenting the kits were Swaziland National Basketball Association (SNBA) President Clement Dlamini and Dups Insurance Marketing Manager Nombuso Mndzebele as well as Nqobile Xaba.

The teams will use the kits during the league games.
The men’s seniors’ teams are Bosco Steels, Mbabane Jazz, Manzini Superstars, Mbabane Knicks, Mbabane Raptors, Imbumbe, Simunye Wizards and Nhlangano Warriors.

The four ladies teams are Super ladies, Lady Jazz, Hackers and Simunye Wizards Ladies.
Dlamini said the kits were part of the E130 000 sponsorship from Dups Insurance. He said this was one way in which they were trying to professionalise the sport. He said each team received a kit with its colours and the sponsor’s logo.

“We would like to thank Dups Insurance for staying with us. This is just one of the ways we are trying to professionalise the sport. We want every team to look good during games and be presentable,” Dlamini said.
He observed that basketball was growing in the country, especially with league games being played on a weekly basis.

Meanwhile, Dups Insurance’s Nombuso Mndzebele said they were happy that the sport was growing in the country. She said as sponsors, they were happy that the teams were fully committed to their game and this shows that they are happy with what they were doing, which is playing the sport.

“We are hopeful that with these kits, the teams will be motivated and the game will improve,” Mndzebele said.
