11 persons of Srikakulam were killed in Thiruvallur wall collapse

As many as 11 persons of Srikakulam district were >killed in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday when a wall in construction site where they were working collapsed.

Srikakulam Joint Collector G.Veera Pandiyan confirmed the incident, which has shocked the district as it had not forgotten the death of 14 workers in a building collapse in Chennai.

Mr. Pandiyan urged the Nellore administration to provide assistance to victims’ families at the site.

Among the 11 deceased, a few were identified so far. Jangala Pydiraju, K.Simhadri, Veeraguru, Vijyamma, Laxmi were killed in the incident. Many of the deceased belonged to Burja and L.N. Peta mandals. Mr.Veera Pandiyan told media that a team of officials will be sent to the accident spot to make arrangements for the shifting of bodies to Srikakulam district.
