People suffering in absence of vital bridges

MENDHAR, July 4: The residents of about half a dozen villages including Nakamanjhari, Mohra Kllar, Jaran Wali Gali, and Herni have been suffering severely for months together in the absence of two vital bridges — Herni bridge on Herni-Nar Road and Gluta bridge on Herni-BG Road.
As per reports, these two bridges were washed away last year in flood water and till now no steps have been taken by the concerned authorities to restore these bridges in the absence of which people of about six villages are suffering badly. The worst sufferers are students and office going people, who can not ever reach their destination in time.
Moreover, both the roads are also in shambles, as there are big ditches and potholes on them. A local leader and social activist, Javed Gulshan, said, “The local residents gave several representations to the concerned authorities and held protest against them but every time potholes were filled either by gravel or earth instead of carrying out proper repair work of the roads.”
He appealed the concerned minister to intervene into the matter and get restored these two roads as well as two bridges as early as possible.
