FATF updates advisories: FATF has held its plenary meeting. Among other announcements:

  • it confirmed Iran and North Korea are still subject to countermeasures and said Algeria, Ecuador, Indonesia and Myanmar have not made enough progress to address the deficiencies in their laws;
  • it announced the end of the third round of assessments and beginning of the fourth. As a result of recent assessments, it has called on Japan to address several deficiencies, and has approved the exit from the follow-up process of Argentina, Australia, Germany and Korea; and
  • it published several reports, including one on the risks of virtual currencies.
