MANGALORE: Manki in Honnavar taluk of Uttara Kannada district recorded maximum rainfall of 22.5mm in Karnataka in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on July 4. Chincholi hobli in Chincholi taluk of Gulbarga district recorded maximum temperature of 37.6°C on July 3 at 4.15pm. Srimangala hobli in Virajpet taluk of Kodagu district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 17.4°C on July 4 at 6am, according to KSNDMC.

More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 30% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 14% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 7% of the hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall of ≥2.5mm. Moderate rain was recorded in 25 gram panchayats; light rain in 66 GPs; very light rain in 115 GPs; and no rain in remaining 1,717 GPs.
Maximum temperature fell at isolated places over north interior Karnataka and changed little over remaining parts of the state. Minimum temperature changed little over the state.
Karnataka for the period June 28 to July 4 recorded deficit rainfall of 80%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 63.1mm in south-interior, north-interior, Malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 12.6mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on July 4, four geographical regions received 0.9mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 8.4mm, an 89% deficit departure from normal.
