Sebastian Telfair, the No. 13 pick in the 2004 draft, spent last season playing in the Chinese Basketball Association following nine seasons with seven teams in the NBA.

Guard Sebastian Telfair is returning to the NBA on a one-year deal, non-guaranteed deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, a person familiar with the deal told USA TODAY Sports.

The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly until the deal was announced officially.

Telfair, the No. 13 pick in the 2004 draft, spent last season playing in the Chinese Basketball Association following nine seasons with seven teams in the NBA.

Telfair will make the league minimum for a player with his years of service and will give the Thunder more backup at the point guard spot.

Telfair had his best season in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2008-09, averaging 9.3 points, 5.9 assists and 2.3 rebounds. In his last NBA season, he split time with the Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors. He averaged 26 points and 5.9 assists with Tianjin in the Chinese pro league.
