It was one of the most hilarious and fun-filled event that had everyone enjoying to the hilt. The occasion was the music launch of Shreyas Talpade’s solo debut production under his banner Affluence Movies Pvt. Ltd’s Poshter Boyz.
The interactive session was filled with funny anecdotes, experiences and leg-pulling by all the team members. A dapper-looking Shreyas was in his element as he even teased his producer-wife Dipti Talpade.
The foot-tapping music of the film was launched by Shankar Mahadevan who has rendered a soulful number in the film and Lesle Lewis, who has composed music for the first time for a Marathi film. Both spoke in chaste Marathi.
“My mother is a Maharashtrian and I converse with her in Marathi. So it was an honour when Shreyas asked me to compose music for this film. All the four songs in the film are very different from each other and if I may say so, very new to Marathi films,” said Lewis.
Shreyas, who had earlier produced Sanai Chaugadhe along with Mukta Arts, is proud of his debut as a solo producer. “I wanted someone of Lesle’s caliber. His music always connects with music lovers. I love all his compositions in the film but Kshan hay is my favourite,” he said.
Bela Shende, Swapnil Bandodkar, Nandesh Umap and Shreyas Talpade have lent their voices for the Deva deva number which has lyrics by Ambarish Deshpande. Aaley re Poshter Boyz has lyrics by Shreyas Talpade and Chaitanya Sant and is rendered by Avdhoot Gupte. “Kshan hay is a very difficult song and Shankar Mahadevan, who has sung such a song for the first time in his musical career has done full justice to it. The song has four octaves and Shankar had to hit the lowest note where, if he was not careful he could have lost his voice. He also had to hit the highest note, where again there was the risk of losing his voice. Yet he agreed to sing the song,” said Lewis to which Mahadevan replied, “It was an opportunity of a lifetime and I did not want to miss it.” He then sang the unplugged version of the song amidst loud cheers.
Being released by Nanubhai Jaisinghani’s Video Palace, Poshter Boyz is directed by Sameer Patil. Besides the entire cast comprising Dilip Prabhavalkar, Pooja Sawant, Aniket Vishwasrao, Hrishikesh Joshi, many Marathi industry biggies were present at the event. The film releases on August 1, 2014.
