CHICAGO: A large throng of devotees of Lake County enjoyed a grand two days of seventh anniversary celebration of Hindu Mandir held on June 28.

The first day of the anniversary started with sankalpam ritual for all the temple deities followed by Kalash Sthapan. Ganapati, Sarvadeva Pujan and Homam with 108 Kalasha Yatra was performed by the temple priest Ganeshji along with sponsor devotees. Later Balaji and Utsava Murthy Abhishekam was completed with chanting of mantras by Pt. Anil Joshiji and Pt. Ganeshji with all Vedic rituals.

A mela was arranged by the temple with all the local business people. Devotees enjoyed delicious food from different Indian stalls and purchased attractive colorful Indian garments and jewelries. A three hour long melodious musical program was performed by Rita Patel, Atul Soni, Kamalesh Desai and Puran Dada. They entertained the devotees while they were enjoying mouthwatering food. Old Bollywood songs captured the hearts and brought in the sweet memories of golden era of Indian cinema.

Next day, Pt. Anil Joshiji started Sarvadeva Homam by Vedic rituals for Sarva Devas and Devis after performing Ganesh and Sarvadeva Pujan. The Homam was performed for the blessings of Sarvadeva for the welfare of community. President Harsh Kumar led the Homam alongwith his family and sponsor families with utmost piety and devotion. Kalasha Yatra was followed by Shiva and Utsava murthi Abhishekam by Pt Ganeshji. Pandit Joshiji blessed all the devotees for their happiness, excellent health and wealth.
President Harsh Kumar thanked all the devotees for their enthusiastic participation and contribution for the temple development, volunteers and kitchen committee for their valuable time and support.
