GURGAON: A collision between two trailer trucks at IFFCO Chowk led to a massive traffic jam on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway and other major intersections of the city that lasted for more than four hours on Wednesday morning.
The collision that occurred around 5am, left one trailer truck stranded in the middle of the road while the other truck fled. Police were called to the spot but they were unable to manage the situation as traffic began to increase during the peak hours.
"The traffic jam on the expressway had a ripple effect as all the important intersections like Atlas Chowk, Sirhaul toll plaza, Udyog Vihar entrance, Cyber City and DLF Phase-I were blocked," said a traffic inspector.

The situation was worsened by the rain and the ongoing construction in Cyber City," he added.
"A single accident has brought the entire city to a standstill. The authorities should visit IFFCO Chowk and they will understand the pitiable condition of our roads," said Shamsher Singh, a commuter, who was stuck for an hour in the traffic jam.
