SDO pulled up for partial RTI replies
MOHALI: The officials of appellant authority of Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) on Monday came down heavily on Zirakpur sub divisional officer (commercial) for not providing sufficient replies to RTI queries of one Jayshal Sood and instructed SDO to furnish the information within a week.
Sood and the SDO were presented before the appellant authority when instructions were passed in Patiala.
Sood demanded information about power connections in Royal Empire from PSPCL and officials refused to share certain information with the applicant.
Meanwhile, Sood claimed some of his queries were leaked and he received calls daring him not to procure such information.
Sources said the appellant officer, a chief engineer rank official of PSPCL, Karamjit Singh Khera, inspected all RTI applications and replies given by the SDO were not sufficient.
Sood had also filed his queries before GMADA about the validity of Royal Empire with GMADA, which initially had provided contradictory information, and later confessed that the valid period of Royal Empire has been expired and it was not renewed.
