MUMBAI: A prime
witness in the
Amboli double
murder case deposed before a special
court on Tuesday and indentified all the four
accused. Special public prosecutor Ujjawal Nikam said the court imposed costs on the defence as they sought time to cross examine the witness who had arrived from Delhi.
Nikam said the woman was present with the victims, Keenan Santos and Reuben Fernandez, on the night of the incident.
“The witness explained the sequence of events and said Keenan and Reuben, with their friends, had gone to the restaurant in Amboli to watch a cricket match. She said the accused used filthy language when one of the woman from their group went to the washroom,” Nikam said. He said when the duo and others objected, the accused threatened them. “The witness said the accused came back and attacked the victims,” Nikam said. The witness identified the weapons used in the crime.
