Violin Memory Receives Gold and Silver Awards in Network Products 2014 Annual Guide for Best Deployments and Case Studies in the USA and Europe

SANTA CLARA, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Violin Memory®, Inc., (NYSE:VMEM), a leading provider of all-flash storage arrays and appliances delivering application solutions for the enterprise, announced today that the company won two top awards in the "Best Deployments and Case Studies" category in the Network Products Guide 2014 Annual Hot Companies and Best Products Awards. Violin Memory received a gold award in the sub-category "Suitable for USA" for its work with the National Council on Crime and Delinquency (NCCD), and a silver award in the sub-category "Suitable for Europe" for its work with VRT Webfarm.

These industry and peer recognitions from Network Products Guide are the world's premier information technology awards honoring achievements and recognition in every facet of the IT industry. Violin was awarded gold for its work with NCCD by accelerating the company's overnight reporting processes with its Oracle (News - Alert) database. The result was a solution that produced reports in about three hours, an 85 percent improvement in report turnaround times and a reduction in licensing costs from three to two Oracle RAC nodes.

Violin Memory received the silver in Europe for its work with VRT Webfarm by meeting their growing service levels to deliver content from three TV stations, radio stations as well as internet broadcasts to three million Belgians. After deploying Violin all-flash array solutions to VRT's core system, Webfarm's web server development time accelerated by 10 times and virtual machine (VM) creation time improved 90 percent - from 20 minutes down to two minutes. The end result was an 800 percent improvement in VM creation time.

"Violin Memory's all-flash arrays have time and time again shown our customers dramatic business-impacting economics by drastically improving the performance of tier one applications," said Eric Herzog, chief marketing officer at Violin Memory. "These two awards are further proof points of how Violin's technology is ushering in the reality of an all-flash data center and that the economic tipping point to migrate away from disk-based storage has arrived."
