Elaborate security for Ramzan, Shrawan

VARANASI: Though the holy month of Ramzan started from Monday, the acid test for the district administration and police will begin from July 13 when the auspicious month of Shrawan will begin.
In view of the challenges of coming month, the district administration has also geared up exercises. The jume-ki-namaz will be offered on July 4, 11 and 18 while Alvida-ki-Namaz will take place on July 25.The Mondays of Shrawan and festive day like Mahashivratri will fall on July 25.
The ADM city said that the Mahashivratri of Shrawan month is falling on July 25 when Alvida-ki-namaz will be offered. "It will be hectic day at the highly sensitive Kashi Vishwanath Gyanvapi complex because the devotees will queue up there to offer Jalabhishek at Kashi Vishwanath temple while Muslims will also throng Gyanvapi mosque at the same time," he said. The security plans are being finalized accordingly. July 28 is also being considered as important day as the third Monday is falling on this date while celebration of Eid can begin on the same day after the visibility of moon.
The officials said that the period till July 13 is also being considered as sensitive as due to offering of 'taravih' heavy crowds are seen on the roads in evening and night. Magistrates will be deployed in these areas. The officials and engineers of departments like Varanasi Municipal Corporation, Jal Kal, Jal Nigam, electricity and PWD have been deployed to handle the arrangements.
The health department has also been asked to deploy teams of doctors, paramedical staff and also arrange medicines in all the localities in view of hot and humid weather conditions.
