18 sustain injuries in bus mishap in Pratapgarh

At least 18 persons, including five women, were injured after a private bus carrying them turned turtle near Kandhai -Aaspur road under Kandhai police station of Pratapgarh district on Monday morning.

ALLAHABAD: At least 18 persons, including five women, were injured after a private bus carrying them turned turtle near Kandhai -Aaspur road under Kandhai police station of Pratapgarh district on Monday morning. In fact, the bus caught fire immediately after the road mishap and two passengers suffered burn injuries. All the injured persons were initially taken to the district hospital and seven of them were later referred to SRN hospital of Allahabad district for treatment.

List of injured persons, included Siraj Khan of Pratapgarh, Rekha and Subhash Singh of Patti, Vijay Pratap of Basti, Ramzan Ali of Saidabad, Gulshan Bano, Devta Deen and others.
The incident, as per police, took place when the bus was on its way to Pratapgarh from Kothara (Sultanpur). The bus driver lost control over the vehicle and it resulted into a mishap. As soon as the ill-fated bus turned turtle, the bus caught fire due to leakage of diesel. Two of the passengers trapped inside sustained burn injures.
As soon as the villagers got to know about the incident, they rushed the spot and informed the police station concerned. An injured person said, "the bus was over crowded and the driver was driving recklessly."
