Over 300 health workers at Lok Nayak Jay Prakash (LNJP) Hospital will go on strike from July 1 over delay in renewal of their contracts. The workers alleged that the private contractor who hired them was refusing to renew them. The employees are Group D workers, who include ward boys and sanitation workers.
“They are contractual employees and the hospital has no role in their recruitment. Their complaint has been forwarded to the administrative staff, who will take it up with the agency,” Dr S Ramji, the medical superintendent, said.
