KOZHIKODE: The RMP leadership has clarified that there is no question of any compromise with the
CPM.
Addressing a news conference here on Monday,
RMP state secretary N Venu said his statement on the agitation against toll collection at the newly-constructed rail overbridge at Kainatty was misinterpreted. "My statement that RMP would welcome anyone who joins the agitation was misinterpreted as a sign of compromise with the CPM.
We think the CPM will never join the agitation and therefore there is no issue aligning with the party," he said.
It is not the policy of the party to work in tandem with any unit of the CPM. At the same time, there are many among the CPM cadres who are dejected with the party policies. Such cadres will be welcomed to our party, Venu said.
RMP is committed to strengthening the Left in the country. It is the wrong policies of the CPM in Kerala and West Bengal that earned more votes for the BJP, he said.
RMP state president T L Santhosh, state secretariat members K K Rema and K S Hariharan attended the press conference.
