Marwari College will celebrate graduation day on July 23.This will be the college's first graduation day ceremony after it became autonomous in 2009 and degrees will confer degrees on 1,600 students.

RANCHI: Marwari College will celebrate graduation day on July 23. This will be the college's first graduation day ceremony after it became autonomous in 2009 and degrees will confer degrees on 1,600 students.
"The college will confer degrees on around 1,300 graduate and 300 post graduate students on the day. Also, 33 gold medals will be awarded to toppers. Preparations for the ceremony have started and we are trying to contact all students who passed out in 2012," said B P Verma, examination controller at the college.

Students of undergraduate courses of batch 2009-12 and PG courses of 2009-11 and 2010-12 batches will participate in the ceremony. The process of registration for the graduation ceremony has already begun and the last day for registration is July 15. "Students willing to register will have to submit a chalan of Rs 1,000 to the examination department of the college and Rs 50 for the gown. Gowns will be distributed two days before the programme after students submit security deposit of Rs 800. The money will be refunded once they return the gowns," said Verma.
State human resource development minister Geetashree Oraon will be the chief guest and M Raziuddin, the pro-vice chancellor of Ranchi University, will be the guest of honour. The programme will be chaired by RU vice chancellor L N Bhagat.
