Udhna police have registered a complaint of a woman, who was cheated of Rs 19,000 with a promise of a job abroad.

SURAT: Udhna police have registered a complaint of a woman, who was cheated of Rs 19,000 with a promise of a job abroad.
Indu L. Devsar, a housewife and resident of Padmanagar Udhna, saw newspaper and online advertisements given by Globe Travels Private Limited on March 26, 2014 about lucrative jobs in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
When she contacted on the given numbers, she was asked to deposit Rs 4,000 for registration and another Rs 15,000 for her passport and air ticket for going abroad.

"We have registered an offence under IPC sections 420 and 406 and section 66D of Information Technology Act. We are trying to trace these numbers and reach the people behind the racket," said an official from Udhna police station.
