Kajal takes charge as new MD PVVNL

VARANASI: Dr Kajal took the charge of managing director of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) on Thursday. The 2008 batch IAS officer was the special secretary health in Lucknow before being appointed as MD PVVNL.
Before Kajal's posting here, UPPCL MD AK Mishra had the additional charge of MD PVVNL also.
After taking charge, Kajal made her intentions clear by instructing subordinates to ensure success of the drive launched on the directive of state government to put an effective check on line loss and power pilferage.She said, "Handling electricity department is a new experience hence it is challenging too. But, as an ordinary consumer I feel that if the people will get proper power supply they will not hesitate in paying the cost of actual consumption."
To review the progress in the ongoing drive and performance in other districts falling under PVVNL she also called a meeting on Friday. She said that her focus would be on maintaining transparency in the works of department. "In comparison to urban the rural belt is greater in east UP region hence the consumption of power is mainly here for domestic uses. No stone would be left in ensuring that benefits of government schemes are reaching to each power consumer", she added.
Kajal was also the DM of Mahoba and has been the CDO in many places before taking the charge of MD PVVNL.
