NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi knows more about the issues of the Muslim community than what many may assume, said Sirajuddin Qureshi, president of the India Islamic Cultural Centre, who met the PM on Wednesday.
“The Prime Minister reiterated his resolve to provide equal development opportunities for Muslims and work towards easing any apprehensions that the community might have,” said Qureshi.

Qureshi said he asked the PM to look into the issue of Muslim youths being falsely implicated in terror cases. He suggested that an independent review committee be constituted comprising intellectuals , lawyers, distinguished citizens and community leaders.

According to Qureshi, the Prime Minister assured him he would look into the matter. He also appealed to the community to come out of fear politics. Modi also agreed to visit the Islamic Centre after Ramadan, said Qureshi.
