Shehnaz calls on Peerzada, projects public issues

SRINAGAR, June 25: Legislator Dr. Shehnaz Ganai today called on Minister for Haj, Auqaf and Floriculture Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, projected some issues of public importance and sought Minister’s intervention for their early redressal.
The demands enlisted before the Minister include establishment of Muslim Madarssa Board in the State, opening of educational institutes under supervision of Wakf Council, appointment of Administrators in Auqaf at Tehsil levels, raising of issue of airfare for Hajjis which is more than as compared to the other states of the country at the appropriate quarter. She also called for up-gradation and maintenance of Krishan Chander Park at Poonch.
Responding to the issue with regard to establishment of Muslim Madarssa Board in the State, the Minister said that it was a long pending demand which is under active consideration of the Government. He said that the roadmap for the purpose has been prepared and is under examination which would be brought in the next meeting of State Wakf Council for final decision. He said that opening of educational institutes by Wakf Council is also active consideration.
Referring to the demand of appointments of Administrators, the Minister said that Administrators at tehsil level would be appointed for safeguarding the Auqaf property and its proper utilization for the betterment of community.
Regarding up-gradation and maintenance of Krishan Chander Park at Poonch, the Minister directed Director, Floriculture, Jammu for taking necessary steps for its up-gradation and maintenance, maintaining that there was no leisure and recreational park in the area.
