MUMBAI: The deadline for filling first-year junior college online option forms has been extended by two days. The deputy director of education has extended the deadline from June 25 to June 27, a move which is expected to bring relief to several students and principals.
“Students can now fill the forms up to June 27. The rest of the schedule will remain unaffected,” said N B Chavan, deputy director of education.
The Mumbai Principals’ Association had requested that the deadline for filling the option forms online be extended, to enable students to apply even after they receive their original SSC mark sheets on Thursday. “There were several discrepancies in the SSC results and many of them were reserved. Hence we wanted that students and principals should get a chance to verify the marks and then proceed for online form submissions,” said Prashant Redij, vice president of the association.
While the extension has brought relief to both principals and students, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education said it had released all results and no students would have been affected. “We have released results for all students and sent the details to MKCL, which is managing the online process. So the online applications would not have suffered,” said Laxmikant Pande, chairperson of the board’s Mumbai division.
The first merit list for FYJC admissions will be declared on July 2 at 5pm. The admission process is expected to continue till July 17.
