Six killed, nine injured in road mishap

Shivpuri: Six persons were killed and nine others injured when a jeep collided with a truck in the city Wednesday morning, police said.

The mishap occurred on the city outskirts when the victims ,from Gulabpura area here, were travelling in the jeep to a temple near Narwar following twin weddings in their family, Shivpuri (rural) police station in-charge Sanjeev Tiwari said.
The deceased have been identified as Ramesh Jatav (50),his wife Kamla (45), and nephews Udit (29) and Rakesh (16). The jeep driver and one more person who died in the accident were yet to be identified, he said.
The injured have been admitted to the district hospital. The truck driver fled from the spot and police has launched a search to nab him.
