New Delhi: In a bid to end `wedding speculation` of Digvijay Singh, the family of the Congress leader on Wednesday urged media to “leave the poor man alone”. On June 21, Rubina Sharma Singh, the wife of the younger brother of Digvijay Singh, Laxman Singh, had set the rumour mills churning on Twitter by saying that “wedding bells will soon ring in the family”. As soon as the reports started contemplating that Digvijay Singh`s wedding with TV anchor Amrita Rai will happen soon, the chhoti bahu of Raghogarh clarified that she was talking of other family member. Today, Rubina again took to the microblogging website to clarify that she was, in actual, talking about the wedding of her cousin, not Digvijay Singh. She also urged media to “leave the poor man alone”, saying the Congress general secretary would make the announcement in this regard himself. The Congress general secretary, 67, had in April acknowledged his relationship with the TV anchor on Twitter after intimate photographs of the two appeared on the social networking site. The former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh had then posted two tweets, acknowledging the relationship with Rai. "I have no hesitation in accepting my relationship with Amrita Rai. She and her husband have already filed a mutual consent divorce case." "Once that is decided we would formalise it. But I do condemn encroachment in our private life," he posted. Rai had separately tweeted: "I have separated from my husband and we have filed a mutual consent divorce papers. After which I have decided to marry with Digvijaya Singh." Singh`s wife had passed away in February last year after battling cancer. His son is Jaivardhan Singh, a legislator from Madhya Pradesh`s Raghogarh, and he also has four daughters.
