SURAT: Police, who are investigating the kidnapping and murder of 11-year-old Mihir in Bilimora in Navsari district, have an uphill task in their hands.
Besides probing the murder of Mihir, whose body was found from a dustbin near his house on Sunday, they are under pressure to unravel the mysterious disappearance of Jyoti, the boy's mother.
Munira Qureshi, paramour of Mihir's father, who was arrested for allegedly kidnapping and murdering the boy, has been remanded in police custody until June 27 by a court in Gandevi on Monday.

Pankaj Gandhi, brother of Jyoti, said, "We have been searching for Jyoti since May 9, 2011 , the day she went missing.
The way Munira murdered Mihir; we strongly suspect she may have played a role in the disappearance of Jyoti."
Earlier, police had claimed that Munira had no role to play in the disappearance of Jyoti. "Munira came in contact with Mihir's father Samir in 2012. Jyoti went missing in 2011."
Gandhi, a businessman, said, "Munira had been staying near Samir's house since 2010. Munira was living with her two children. Her husband is in Africa and does not maintain any relation with her. She shifted to her current address in 2012 after which Samir hired her as a cook."
Gandhi said, "Samir may have hired Munira as cook in 2012 after Jyoti went missing but I believe he knew her before that. If police carry out a thorough probe in my sister's case, I believe we will know what had happened to her."
Navsari district superintendent of police Nilesh Jhajadiya said, "Police are investigating the case thoroughly."
