VADODARA: The accused in the rape and robbery of a woman that took place late on Sunday night has been sent back to the juvenile home from where he had escaped on June 9. The police also found key evidence linking the accused to the crime spot.
According to the police, a thorough examination of the crime scene was done again on Tuesday. The police found cigarette buds and an empty 'pan masala' pouch at the crime scene.
These were consumed by the accused at the spot.
The accused while checking the purse of the victim had thrown a chocolate in it on the spot. This was also recovered from the spot by the police.
While the police are examining the possibility of the accused being involved in other offences besides the rape after he escaped from the juvenile home, they have not found anything on that front yet. "He largely stayed holed up at his residence," said Gorwa police inspector R N Patel.
