In democracy, politicians are continuously under test.

Gujarat will witness a small season of elections within next six months when by-polls will be held for 9 assembly seats(Maninagar, Deesa, Limkheda, Matar, Mangrol, Jamkhambhalia, Talaja, Tankara and Anand) and 1 Lok Sabha seat(Vadodara).

Prior to that the state will witness general election of Junagadh Municipal Corporation on 20 July.

The state will then witness the biggest election season after Lok Sabha general elections in last three months of 2015.

Panchayat elections for 24 districts(barring Kheda and Banaskantha districts) and 209 Talukas will be held along with the elections of 53 Municipalities and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in October 2015.

Elections for Jamnagar, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Vadodara, Surat and Jamnagar Municipal Corporations will be held in December 2015.

All these elections are to be held as per the census 2011. The state election commission has therefore asked district election officers to start procedure of new delimitation. There’s no clarity on new seven districts and 27 new talukas so far.
