JAIPUR: One more illegal portable sonography machine was recovered in the state on Monday. This is the third such sonography machine seized by the pre-conception pre-natal diagnostic technique (PCPNDT) cell in the past six months during raids and decoy operations.
The machine was recovered during a raid at a sonography scan centre in Singana area of Jhunjhunu district.

PCPNDT state appropriate authority Navin Jain said that incharge of crime branch (state) of state PCPNDT cell Madan Lal Sharma received a tip-off that an unauthorised person was conducting sonography to reveal sex of the foetus under the garb of a radiographer at a sonography scan centre in Singana in Jhunjhunu.
Following this, a team headed by PCPNDT cell incharge Kishna Ram Isarwal raided the sonography centre. He said that there was a tall man in the sonography centre, who had a bunch of papers and he tried to tear them. Unable to do so, he fled from the scene. The officials said that the papers contained names of 115 women and there were + and - signs against their names. Records of transactions of money were also found.
The PCPNDT cells also seized portable sonography machines, active trackers, form 'F' and register.
No evidence of registration of the person conducting the sonography with the Rajasthan Medical Council was found from the spot, officials said.

The official said that from the spot they did not found any evidence of registration of the person conducting the sonography with the Rajasthan Medical Council.
He said that the portable sonography machines are illegal as there is a ban on its use. One each unregistered portable machine had aleadty been seized from Chomu and from a village in Nagaur district.
