Torkham border: 46 Afghan citizens deported from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa

Abdullah explained the afghans were arrested during search operations in Peshawar.

Forty six Afghan citizens were deported by the Pakistani authorities via Torkham border, Landikotal tehsil of Khyber Agency on Monday.


Assistant Political Agent Tayyeb Abdullah said the Afghan citizens were deported and handed over to Afghan authorities at around 10am.


Abdullah explained they were arrested during search operations in Peshawar.


These 46 Afghans were in the city without correct documentation, added the assistant political agent.


They were first handed over to the political agent in Khyber Agency.


Under strict police security, they were taken to Karkhano check post to be given into political administration officials’ custody.


From there, the Afghan citizens were taken to Torkham border.


They were then handed over to Afghan authorities at the border.
