Notices served on ‘ghost’ teachers

PESHAWAR - The political administration of Orakzai Agency has served notices on all ghost teachers of the agency and initiated disciplinary action against 32 teachers hailing from various areas of the agency.
According to local sources, 600 teachers and 300 naib qasids are doing jobs in foreign countries while they are receiving salaries from education department regularly.
 Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi took serious exception of this case and directed concerned authorities to take stern action against these ghost teachers.
According to education department, 1680 teachers are currently enrolled in the agency and out of them 32 have been served notices to appear in personally to explain their position. The department has informed directorate education of FATA to take action against five teachers who are not attending their duties.
Political Agent Abdul Basir Wazir has appointed Political Tehsildar Tanzeel Rahman and Political Tehsildar Ismail Zai Tehsil Bashir Khan as members of the scrutiny committee.
